They always go for the bad boy.

Because when you think about it, isn't it just too coincidental that she is captured every other month and so easily? - Das!

Welcome to Week 200!!!

Hey all:

Art Jumble is four years old!

So enjoy this week of posting your best pieces! We've got some exciting new things in the works for the Art Jumble Blog to be released in the next couple of weeks:
  • A new site design (web and smart phone friendly)
  • Monthly competitions (more details soon)
  • Monthly newsletters
  • Advertising with Art Jumble
  • And other little improvements...
Comic Jumble (found in the top banner), will be taken down soon for the time being. It's a great idea, but needs to be rethought - so enjoy that while it's up.

Just a couple of stats from the blog:
  • We've gotten over 270,700 visits from 12,860 cities around the world
  • Most traffic comes from Arizona, New york, Vancouver, Madrid, Toronto, etc.
  • Most of our referring traffic comes from Google images because Google owns Blogger. All images that get posted to Art Jumble will more than likely show up as Google image searches when people look for things. See for yourself, you might find one or two of your own posted images: http://www.google.com/images?q=art+jumble
  • Over 1,000 people subscribe to our RSS feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ArtJumble
Looking forward to another four years, take care and have fun guys!

Niko Geyer

"You Make My Heart Sing"

An homage to Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are, this was my contribution to Cory Godbey's Terrible Yellow Eyes tribute from last year.

* * *

"The Orphan Prince"

This is a commissioned book cover for a young adult novel of the same name about a young prince and his page who embark on a big adventure. That sense of excitement and departure is what I wanted to capture with this picture.

* * *

"Jack and the Beanstalk"

Some of the Art Jumble veterans may remember this one. I actually drew it for this blog over two years ago! Feel free to take a look at the archived entry for some more information.

* * *

"Ambivalent World"

Even though my webcomic, Fantasy Realms, has been on hiatus for several years now, I still love to revisit the characters every now and then. Ledin in particular is rather iconic and a fan favorite.

I'm not sure if these are my best, but they certainly rank among my favorites. You're welcome to visit my homepage if you want to see more of my work: www.nikogeyer.com
