The Incredible Hurc

Hercules returning from battle, still heavy with the slaughter of his own family (which he committed). I always loved the stories of Hercules, especially the Labors of Hercules. - Das!

Mural - Centaur

Hi folks!  I've been member here for awhile but haven't had a chance to post until now.  This is a small corner of a 8' x 10' Greek mythology mural I painted in my son's room a few years ago. I am focusing on children's illustration right now, and I mainly work in colored pencil, but also love watercolor and acylics. I'm getting a slow start to digital as well. Awesome work everyone, I love the myths!  Visit my blog at  Susan Beth Studio if you get a moment -  Have a great week everyone!

Birth of Athena

Must have hurt!

Lost In Translation

Say hello to my little friend! - Das!

Medusa.

MEDUSA

Quick Medusa sketch. I know she's always shown with her entire head covered in snakes but when I picture Medusa in my head she has lots of hair with the snakes hiding in between. It's her secret weapon after all..

Astro 12

In 2008 I spent the whole year on project called Astro 12. It was a series of 12 DVDs, each one on a different sign of the Zodiac. Each DVD had about 5 minutes of animation in it that told a story from Greco-Roman mythology. The original idea was not to animate it, but to have a stick puppet show; literally use cut outs and a little stage and film it live action. We ended up making it a digital stick puppet show in After Effects, thus the sticks sticking out of the bottom of the characters. These are the screen-shots.
