Marlo monster

What is it about redheads, anyways? Done during lunch, with whatever was in hands reach (watercolor, color pencil, marker) and no thought involved...bleeeeech! Apologies to Miss Meekins.

Marlo the great!!!!

Marlo Meekins is a great artist and i have been a fan of hers for sometime now. great topic this week. i tried to use her style in this drawing, hope she and all for you like it, bye 4 now.

Marlo broke my computer.

Well I tried doing this pic originally in photoshop but every time I'd start to work away my computer would shut itself down. Sure enough 5x later I'm positive that CS2 is far too powerful for my puny computer...I redraw everything in flash. Problem solved, now to fix the holes in the walls from my fits of anger.

I can't confirm that she harbors a narwhal in her hair, just a hunch.

color progress

It's just in the beginning stage. I just started coloring this guy, so here's the progress so far. Just threw on some rough flat colored areas, then a bit of shadowing. There is MUCH more to do, so if I don't get it finished by tonight, you may see it pop up in the next topic.

hillbilly nascar fan

a very fun topic. this might look like an over the top fictional character, but this in fact a real person. someone i saw and quickly sketched down when i was working at an amusement park as a caricature artist, right down to the rotton blue tooth. people like this are just fodder for caricaturists.

Bobby-Jeb or Billy-Bob-Earl?

A piece I worked on recently. For Rick and all the hoodbillies in Ohio, especially those who live in the Great Western Reserve!

Jack and the Beanstalk

I'm a big fan of old fairy tales; that's why I couldn't pass up on the chance of illustrating Jack and the Beanstalk when I saw it was this week's topic at Art Jumble.

I wanted to give my giant a more aristocratic look than what you usually see. The guy's got a magic hen, a talking harp to do his bidding, and he is living in a magnificent castle -- he just didn't give me the impression of an unsophisticated oaf. And I must admit I had a lot of fun drawing a big ogre with a monocle!

Jack and the Bean stock

Another photoshop experiment from me. I wanted to keep this nice and rough, like it was concept art for something.
