Well I tried doing this pic originally in photoshop but every time I'd start to work away my computer would shut itself down. Sure enough 5x later I'm positive that CS2 is far too powerful for my puny computer...I redraw everything in flash. Problem solved, now to fix the holes in the walls from my fits of anger.

a very fun topic. this might look like an over the top fictional character, but this in fact a real person. someone i saw and quickly sketched down when i was working at an amusement park as a caricature artist, right down to the rotton blue tooth. people like this are just fodder for caricaturists.

Jack and the Beanstalk
Jumbled by
Niko Geyer
I'm a big fan of old fairy tales; that's why I couldn't pass up on the chance of illustrating Jack and the Beanstalk when I saw it was this week's topic at Art Jumble.

I wanted to give my giant a more aristocratic look than what you usually see. The guy's got a magic hen, a talking harp to do his bidding, and he is living in a magnificent castle -- he just didn't give me the impression of an unsophisticated oaf. And I must admit I had a lot of fun drawing a big ogre with a monocle!
