It’s my first time to use pen tablet to render a character. I only use it to render backgrounds. I struggled at first because the one I used is so small, I think it’s 3”x 4”. I got the hang of it later on. In the Philippines we call this creature “Shokoy”. Usually it’s half man (body) half fish (head). But, this one is a little different.

Shokoy

I've been struggling with a tablet as well, it's always a surprise to see what happens to the colors when you get them on a larger screen isn't it?
