Awesome cartoon. Looks like a cell from an animated film. I can definitely see a story coming out of this! Hope you feel motivated enough to follow up on it. Be interested to know your cartoon influences, if any.
Hey, thanks for the thoughtful comments! I liked the original doodle of this one but ended up making the colors far too dark due to my misbehaving Cintiq (which NEVER matches colors properly). Anyhow, this is just a one-shot in an endless series of one-shots. I'm not sure that I have a direct inspiration when it comes to cartooning but I definitely admire Scott Vandenbosch (http://scottvandenbosch.blogspot.com/) and his awesome use of color.
I used the Cintiq once....oh man...it was like a dream... I use the iPad now, but compared to the Cintiq , it's like I'm Fred Flintstone carving pictures with a stone mallet! I think these should be more than one shots.you certainly can turn them into some kind of children's story or something. The illustration is so engaging. I really think you should consider it.
